Pearce with another homer tonight, his 2nd since coming back. OPS up over .700.

Camden Chat: The O's should consider bringing Pearce back for 2016

Not sure why consider is in the headline. IMO it's an easy decision to bring him back. Limited commitment, can play multiple positions, chance for upside.

$3-4M on a one year deal would be the most I'd go.
Should be enough, can't imagine anyone is going to give a 2nd year.

Depends on the plan.
This is always what bothers me about the limited approach. It's not a series of individual actions, you are trying to get somewhere intentional.
If the Orioles are letting Davis walk and intend for Mancini to start at AAA and want to build a reasonable 1-year bridge to him, Pearce is certainly a credible option.
If you want Pearce to be half of a platoon off the bench, OK.
....but there's (IMO) some opportunity to use 'that position' to do some other things. It just depends where they want to go.

When you say "limited approach", what do you mean?

I'd prefer to have Pearce as a utility bat than slotted to start at a specific position. We arguably have C, 1B, LF, and RF to fill and I'd be a little disappointed if the plan was to hand Pearce the every-day job at one of those positions, even though he can play 3/4 (all 4? I vaguely remember that he and Flaherty have catching experience). There's just too much opportunity with 4 open roles to give one of them to a career replacement-level player in his age-33 year because he had one outstanding year.

What happened to him?
From the telecast... Thorne said continued forearm pain... getting another look, don't be surprised if he's done for the year.

No idea what Buck is thinking sometimes. Keeping him in that game last night was complete stupidity.
