Good for Steve.  Wanted him back, but not for that deal.

Yea, that is probably more than I would have given him.

I am guessing he will be able to play in the OF but if not, that reduces his value a lot for me, at least with the way the Os are built.

Agree, if he can't be a good defensive outfielder like he was before his injury, then he isn't nearly as attractive and versatile of an option.

Yea, hate to see where he went, but good for him.

That is more than I thought he would get.

Apparently the Jays plan to use him as a platoon option with Smoak.

It also tells you the Os think Mancini can be similar for a lot less money.

I don't know anything about this... is there reason to think his arm can't/won't heal up to be like it was before?

No, I think the assumption is he'll make a full recovery.

Well that option is off the table. Quite a few guys being signed already while the O's do their typical wait and see approach. I like Rickard and he's cheap but I was hopeful they would bring Steve back as a #4 OFer. He just gives them so much flexibility with all the positions he can play.

So wake up DD and go freaking sign Fowler.
