I rarely get involved in music threads, because people that really really really like music have ruined music for the casual radio listener like me. I digress. But I heard a song I haven't heard in a while and its my favorite intro to a song. So what are some on of yours? What makes you turn it up to 11 when you hear it?

Dire Straits - Money for Nothing. The drums come in, build up slowly, then the famous guitar riff with heavy distortion. So good.

"Constructive Summer" by The Hold Steady or any song by Springsteen.

There is baseball, and occasionally there are other things of note

"Now OPS sucks.  Got it."

"Making his own olive brine is peak Mackus."

"I'm too hungover to watch a loss." - McNulty

Orange Crush by R.E.M. Love how it just gets right to it.

I'm not a big Deadhead or anything, but I love this intro:

Had it as my ringtone for a bit some years back.

Saw the thread title, and "Money for Nothing" was my answer before I read the OP.

I have to correct this.

"Money for Nothing" is great.  But the correct answer is "Say it Ain't So" by Weezer.

Sweater Song by Weezer a better nomination from that album.

There is baseball, and occasionally there are other things of note

"Making his own olive brine is peak Mackus."

"I'm too hungover to watch a loss." - McNulty

The opening few seconds to "N***** in Paris" by Kanye and Jay-Z is a signal that the party is about to get wild
