I'm sure Nickle and Rob will like where Tiger ranks, but Nickle may not like that the most over hyped athlete ever is ahead of him.

I haven't seen the list but I'd have to go with the following:

Kobe

LeBron

Duncan

Iverson

Shaq

Manning

Brady

Tomlinson

Favre

Rodgers

Jeter

Pedro

Rivera

Griffey

Pujols

Tiger

Phelps

Lennox Lewis

I never had friends later on like the ones I had when I was twelve. Jesus, does anyone?

You're forgetting or dismissing tennis, soccer, track, and hockey there.

Yeah I know I forgot some others. I guess Venus/Serena (which ever one is better or both) deserve to be in there, with Sampras.

I know nothing of soccer or hockey.

Federer > Sampras

Serena > Venus

Mayweather > Lewis

Also, there are plenty of greats from less popular or mainstream sports that are excluded. MMA guys and X-Games guys standout in terms of the latter.

Bonds should be higher.

I left him out. Tried to avoid players with known steroid issues.

I assume some held that against Bonds since he's easily higher if it's performance only.

Having LBJ at #2 right now only fuels my point. How history would view him and his whole Decision differently if the Spurs didn't choke and Allen save his ass in '13. Dude should be 1-4 in the Finals. With that win coming over a clearly not ready Thunder team

Lets not forget that he had one of the best 9 or so minute stretches I've ever seen to get them back into that game where "Allen saved his ass."

And if you're going to knock him for the Thunder not being ready in your view, well maybe it should be considered that the Cavs were incredibly over-matched against the Spurs and last years Spurs had the most impressive Finals I've seen.

I do think #2 is a bit high, though.

Of course #2 is too high for a guy that's still iN the middlish of his career and only has 2 rings.

Tiger, Federer, Brady, Phelps all deserve to be higher. I'd also argue that Messi could be higher.

Didn't pay attention to this yesterday.

Mike & Mike talking about this, so took a look... agreed with Greenberg, list is horrible.

Should MJ be in the top 5 considering so little of his career was in this time frame?

Well that's not really the criteria.

Athletes were limited to those whose careers existed or their crowning achievements occurred within the last 20 years.

I guess they are saying MJ's crowning achievement which is 6 NBA titles out weighs everyone else plus he was MVP that year and Championship MVP.  I would say he belongs atop.

Bonds at 19 is silly.  I don't like the guy, but Jesus... if they had a stat for dingers per hittable pitch, he'd be in front by a several miles...

I do like the photo of Mia Hamm's 'roid face  ;-)
