I talked to Michael Conlan, an undefeated featherweight prospect, last week, and at the end of the interview, I asked him for his thoughts on the Gervonta "Tank" Davis vs. Leo Santa Cruz fight that's happening in October. The fight is being waged at 130 pounds, and even though neither Conlan nor I think Davis can actually make that weight (the dude originally missed 135 pounds the last time he fought!), here's what Mick told me.
"I think Tank might be a little too big for Leo. If Santa Cruz can withstand that part, his energy is phenomenal. There are a lot of questions about Tank, but he’s a destructive puncher. If he hits, he hurts. That could be the final factor. Santa Cruz is not a big puncher. But he’s aggressive and throws an awful lot of shots. But it’s a big challenge for him. I think Tank wins, probably by stoppage."
