Has anyone else been down the blogging road with the bigger networks?

I spent a season working on an SBNation site, then jumped around for a summer and wrote for a couple Fansided sites before venturing out on my own blog and becoming the sports editor for Impose Magazine.

I've also had pitches rejected/ignored by The Classical and The Cauldron, haha.

But I'm curious as to what others peoples experiences have been!

Two of our writers (http://baltimorespor...life.com/about/) write for National sites. Jeff Long for Baseball Prospectus, Jonathan Bernhardt previously with Sports on Earth - currently with The Guardian, and VICE.

Handful of posters have/do write for larger outlets.

What SB Nation site did you write for?

I wrote for Grizzly Bear Blues covering the Memphis Grizzlies and then Sir Charles in Charge and as a featured columnist for Fansided.

I also worked for two smaller networks as a Wizards writer/editor, but left those other spots when I became the sports editor at Impose because it was a paid position.

In a lot of ways writing for a non-sports site is a huge bonus because you're not competiting with an entire network to get attention and it's a fun way to carve down story ideas to get not necessarily sports fans interested in sports.

Baseball Essential is staffing up for this coming season. Looks like a good opportunity.
