Mediocre shows will plot out the stories in such a way that it is easy to know what is going to happen.

Good shows will plot out their stories in such a way that it is easy to know what is going to happen, then effectively twist things to create an emotional impact.

Great shows will plot out their stories in such a way that it is easy to know what is going to happen, then write the outcomes so amazingly well that you know what is coming and still get the emotional impact anyway. Oh, and let Mike be awesome off on the side somewhere, too.

This week's episode left me feeling I was watching something as good as, or better, than Breaking Bad.  Just great storytelling.

I felt like this past one had a lot of Breaking Bad ties. The parking garage looked exactly the same as the one they tried to blow Gus's car up in. The guy who sold the drugs had some Walter White qualities. Glasses, balding, his clothes. The van he drove was similar to the one that picks Walt and Saul up for their new lives, just different color. I want to say the meeting place for the deal was a place used in BB as well but I cant quite place it.

Just caught up. The last episode was incredible. This show is so damn good. The scene at the end was just insanely tense... Odenkirk showing his versatility. Just killed it.

I can see why AMC ordered two seasons of this show right off the bat.  It's simply fantastic.  Every bit as good as Breaking Bad so far, IMO, which is an incredibly high bar to try to live up to.

You knew it was his brother that was holding him back.

The scene in the parking garage was classic.

You knew it was his brother that was holding him back.

And yet the show still killed it. The sign of a truly great show.

It's definitely better than BB at the same point in each series. That's not that surprising though. As some of us said before it started, just trust Gilligan.

I just caught up. What a phenomenal episode. Completely agree with everything else that was said.

Odenkirk is really fantastic.
