The Orioles need to use him more. He's may be the best they have. I don't know if he's more knowledgable than Palmer but his humor and wit make him a better listen IMO.

I don't think he's interested in doing it full time or much more than he currently does, unfortunately.   Agree completely as to his talent.  He's my favorite broadcaster I've ever listened to.  I love Palmer, but I get downright giddy whenever I turn on the radio and Ben happens to be on.  Sad I haven't had much of a chance to listen to the recent games he's been calling.

I'm pretty sure he does stuff for the SEC network but he probably loves that.

Joe Angel and Ben is the best combo we could possibly put out there.

Been a trying few weeks for my wife and I. She's pregnant and we found out a few weeks back that the baby had a 1 in 166 chance of having Downs Syndrome. Now, that's less than 1% but 1 in 166 aren't great odds IMO.

The good news was that the levels weren't too far off. We had found out that we were having twins but then one of the twins didn't make it. The doctor felt that there was still some evidence of the deceased baby and that could be throwing off the levels, so they had us do another blood test.

After almost 2 weeks, we got the results today and everything came back normal. and while you can never rule something out, it's incredibly unlikely at this point.

And because we took this test, we found out the sex of the baby and we are having another boy.

Just so relieved about the health news that the sex of the baby hasn't sunk it that much yet.

Congrats on the good news!

And thanks for sharing such a personal issue.  I think a lot of people treat this sort of thing as something embarrassing to be kept quiet and hushed over, which I think can make it tougher on people struggling with getting pregnant or health risks during a pregnancy.  Seems to me that if people talked about these sort of things more out in the open, hopefully people wouldn't feel so isolated or hopeless or worried.

Its a really tough subject.  My biggest fear is having a child born with some issue that effects him/her for the rest of their lives.

Some of that is selfish...tough on your relationship, financial issues, etc..But the way kids act nowadays anyway, with the bullying, it would be devastating to have to comfort a kid who was born with something they can't control and be picked on everyday.  So, there was so much going on through our heads over the past 2 weeks.  Very stressful but luckily, it appears everything will be fine.

I will say this though...it drives home the idea of having kids as young as you can.  The older the women gets, the riskier it is.  DS has nothing to do with family history or anything like that...its really all about age.  My wife is only 33 and has already had a kid and it was still risky.

It is enough to say, we won't try for a third.  Its possible we would look at adopting a little girl if things work out well for us but we won't try to have another child naturally because we really start to play with fire there.

My mom badly wanted a girl and had 4 sons trying. In between son 3 and 4 there was a miscarriage, and son 4 was 6 weeks premature and has cerebral palsy. Needless to say, I know first hand the feeling, Rob, although I was only 6 at the time my youngest brother was born, and obviously couldn't understand it. But now that I do, sometimes it's best to be cautious, and there are a ton of children out there that would benefit greatly from adoption. I'm glad everything worked out for you and your wife. Scary stuff man.

My cousin was born with a birth defect...but after being born, she got menigitis, which caused a stroke and she has been mentally handicapped since then. They told them she wouldn't live past 10. She's now around 35 but she can't do anything for herself. I have watched my aunt and uncle struggle through life(some of which was their own fault and poor decision making) and this is a big reason why. It's really tough on a family and it's just not something I would ever wish on my worst enemy. I really can't imagine anything worse than seeing a child struggle like that everyday.

Fortunately Aaron is fine mentally, just a speech impediment from being paralyzed from the waist up. He can walk and plays video games with his feet, but can't use the restroom or feed himself. Great kid, taught me a ton about life, but yeah he's 25 now and struggling with finding women, finding a career, etc. Somehow he manages to cheer us up though. Just amazing.

A British SAS sniper killed top ISIS executioner 1500 meter away!

A British sniper took out a feared ISIS executioner as he prepared to murder several hostages by shooting a fuel tank on his back and incinerating him.

The SAS marksman fired a single round from his Barrett .50 calibre sniper rifle at the terrorist, who was about to use a flame thrower to kill 12, from 1,500m.

The bullet hit the flame thrower's fuel tank and caused a huge fireball, also killing three other ISIS members who were ready to film the execution.
