No "The Queen is Dead", Pedro?

Would be my #2, behind "Reckoning" for me.

The Joshua Tree would lead any 80s list for me.  Every note of the album is great and never gets old.  Oddly, I never purchased it until the 90s.

Metallica's Master of Puppets was and is awesome.  That's not the only good album of theirs in the decade, but it stands out for me.

Appetite for Destruction was epic and holds up well.

Thriller was certainly good.  Quite a bit of it still jumps right off the speakers.  Bad had some moments too.

I'd give Van Halen's 1984 a mention.  Panama alone warrants mention.

The 80s bore us Tesla, and their debut album Mechanical Resonance rocked.  I believe their second (and stronger) album, The Great Radio Controversy, came out before the decade ended.

And I always have a soft spot for Cinderella's first album.  Lots of good times driving to high school with my best friend playing that to the loudest volume possible.

As an Elton John fan, his album Too Low for Zero was and still is great.

For me, the 80s was a decade of singles.  The 70s had the albums.

No love for Rush here?

Moving Pictures (1981) has all of their big songs on it (Tom Sawyer, YYZ, Limelight). One of my favorite albums ever.

Hold Your Fire (1987) signaled a big change in Rush's music to a more keyboard-driven style. Time Stand Still, Second Nature, and Prime Mover are great off this album, as well as Mission, Lock and Key, and Force Ten.

This sounds like a dialogue right out of that Paul Rudd movie.

Pixies are making their way towards this list. We may have to bid farewell to a few of the folks towards the bottom of the list.

“Doolittle” is fucking outstanding

Yea this list is all sorts of messed up. Daydream Nation and Unforgettable Fire are too high. Need to be moved down or removed.

Don't ruin a perfectly good thread with shitty Hold Steady lyrics. And no Purple Rain?

Of all my decade “top” albums list, this one probably needs to be revisited the most. I may do all of them 60s-twenty teens and compare to what I had originally versus what I have now.

80s probably needs the most revisiting. 70s right behind it

If you are talking 80's there has to be some hair bands:

Def Leppard:  Pyromania (Prefer it to the more heralded Hysteria)

Guns and Roses:  Appetite for Destruction

Scorpions:  Love at First Sting

Just a few :)
