Anytime you can protect a 26 y/o relief pitcher with good but not overwhelming numbers at AA, you do it.

No problem protecting him, they certainly have the room.
I would think he gets ML time in '19, and I think a healthy Kline can be good. His return this year was good to see.
That said, agree about the general point of protecting a 26 year old reliever who hasn't touched the majors, has had arm issues previously, and whose upside is only so high.

Agree. I'm just poking fun at the current state of the team. Easy choice to protect him. Just a bit embarrassing at the same time.

I am really pulling for Kline. Anyone who hangs in and fights his way back after all the setbacks, deserves some success.

I really want to see this kid make it. After all the physical adversity, he deserves it. I feel the same way about Harvey.

A hometown product from Frederick, MD, Kline jumped back on the prospect map after missing numerous seasons with injury. He rocketed through the system and was closing games for Triple-A Norfolk by season’s end, added to the 40-Man Roster in October. His fastball touches 98-to-99 mph at best and sits comfortably in the high-90s, able to beat hitters up in the zone with lively late ride. After missing the last two years, Kline’s slider came back slowly but was playing like an above-average pitch by the end of the year. Kline has the stuff to pitch late innings and is likely to reach Baltimore early in 2019.

Not a great start, was hoping he would make a push for an early call up.

Back with the O's in Minnesota.
1.2 scoreless innings with Norfolk since his demotion.

Like Kline a lot, but was scored on in his last 5 outings. Has been sent back down. Go earn another trip up.

Short notice, tons of travel, 3 hours of sleep. I can kind of forgive last nights outing.
As someone who has made that trip back and forth across the country, more than a few times, I can attest that it sucks.

They were the only one.
