The Orioles have agreed to terms on a one-year contract with left-handed reliever Wesley Wright, reports Roch Kubatko of MASNsports.com (on Twitter). Wright, a client of Reynolds Sports Management, was non-tendered by the Cubs at the beginning of the month.

Wright, who turns 30 next month, posted a 3.17 ERA with 6.9 K/9, 3.5 BB/9 and a 52.1 percent ground-ball rate in 48 1/3 innings with the Cubs this past season. In 85 plate appearances, opposing left-handed hitters batter just .273/.321/.273 against Wright.

Just no need to tender Matusz when guys like this are out there.

The hope is DD knows Matusz has some trade value and is looking to move him.

Wright has a .238 career "average against" versus lefthanded hitters, but was up to .273 in 2014. Solid signing.

All singles, probably why it was a little inflated. I like it but why tender Matusz like BNick said unless we can trade him.

K and BB rates aren't that great.

Could be a decent signing...hopefully they aren't spending too much money.

Who knows..... Maybe someone can still see potential in him? The Cubs struck gold with Arrieta..... maybe there's a team willing to take a chance on Matusz.

The Baltimore Orioles added a quality left handed arm to their bullpen on Tuesday by signing free agent reliever Wesley Wright to a one-year deal.

$340k per out recorded.

Has anyone we signed to a 1-year deal in the offseason or brought back on a one-year arbitration contract had a good season besides Britton?

I was just about to say -- another $1.7 million flushed down the drain.

DD really managed to piss away a good size chunk of change this offseason.

I never had friends later on like the ones I had when I was twelve. Jesus, does anyone?
