This is beyond awful. Not trying to sound like a hipster or music snob, but I guess they just went for the lowest common denominator when selecting most of these.
There is baseball, and occasionally there are other things of note
"Now OPS sucks. Got it."
"Making his own olive brine is peak Mackus."
"I'm too hungover to watch a loss." - McNulty

Rebellion (Lies) is one of my favorite songs. This is just an awful, awful list.

Should have just made a pop list with all mainstream songs and had fun with it.

The problem is trying to make this a serious list and comparing mainstream heavy radio rotation songs vs your underground stuff. Leave that crap to Rolling Stone or some other org that takes themselves too seriously.

Pretty much. Could have phrased it, best mainstream songs of the millenium. That would have been better.
BTW, look at Rob starting a music thread. You've come along way.

The tastes of music on Grantland depends on who writes the article. They do cover a lot of indie bands that don't get a second of airplay on the radio, though, so that's cool.
But they also write a lot of meaningless articles. Fantasy stuff. I guess it makes for a quick read on a slow day but its irrelevant as soon as it hits the page.

Christ. This is like asking whose shit tastes the best. It's just not worth it, and it won't end well.

Is this worse than their The Wire bracket that David Simon wishes got a visit from Chris and Snoop?

Not to be ubber-fan boy but no "Lateralus" on that list = ultimate fail. That song is 9 and 1/2 minutes (and even up to 17-18 minutes with some live versions) of the ultimate ear orgasm.
To this list I say Boo-urns.
Boo-urns, I say.
Lemme get two claps and a Ric Flair

I like to read Jonah Keri, Bill Barnwell, and Zach Lowe. Other than that I think their website is horrible.

I like Greenwald's TV stuff. Haven't been too impressed by their movie stuff, or their music stuff (though I just don't care about that too much).

Yeah, I've been loving that. And Men in Blazers, when I find time (it isn't one of my priorities). Girls in Hoodies has been pretty interesting.

All 3 of those guys plus Simmons makes a great core for a website. They also have some other interesting articles as well as stone reapply strong podcasts.
