The flood gates are open. Apparently the WNBA does this already. Who knew?

I understand why soccer teams do it. So if we can eliminate commercials from sporting events where the players are walking billboards, sure. Otherwise...this is going to get annoying and out of hand when MLB, NFL, NHL catch on as well.

I mean, does anyone know which teams these are? Cause I don't. (Other than it says so at the bottom of the first one).

The WNBA probably only advertises things like <insert sexist joke>, the NBA will spice it up with <insert racist joke> ads as they try to become more like <insert soccer joke>.

No clue on the first one (without the caption). The second one I would guess is a Seattle-based team, since it's the home city of Microsoft (Bing) and the color-scheme is the same as the Sonics (at the time they left).

This news should not come as a surprise to anyone. The NBA has been mentioning this as a distinct possibility for a few years now.

Also, it's a 2.5" x 2.5" ad that will appear on the front left side of the jersey (opposite the Nike logo). So not terrible.

Now, could they go crazy and go the soccer/QNBA route? Certainly, but I don't think that happens for at the minimum 5 years.

Just thinking about the joke I want to make just got me banned from Jezebel.

Also, don't forget about the Baltimore Jolly Ranchers!

If I needed another reason to not care about the NBA, this would be it... but I don't...
